Use a project as a template

Use a project as a template

When creating a new project in BIMcollab Nexus, you can use a project template or another project as as a Template. This copies the project settings and you can enable the options to also copy team members, areas, milestones and BIM requirements. The BIM requirements include Smart Views, Clash rules and List definitions added to the shared folders of the template project in BIMcollab Zoom. As well as IDS specifications set up in BIMcollab Nexus for the template project.

If the use of project templates is enforced in the space, all the users will need to choose from one of the templates available while creating a new project. If not enforced, they will be able to use the existing templates, create a new template or create a project without using a template. Administrators are able to choose from all the options. See Create a new template to find more about creating and enforcing templates.

Labels, types, groups and priorities, as well as the custom and mandatory fields in Premium and Ultimate spaces, will always be copied along with project owner. If necessary, these settings can be edited later on the Settings page of the project.

When you work with company standards for all or some of these values, set up a template project to use specifically for this purpose.
